» In-Shop Repairs
|
|
We encourage our
customers to bring their problematic computers into our
shop for repair. When doing so, remember to bring all of the
disks, CDs and documentation that came with the particular computer
you are dropping off. Bring no power cables, keyboards or mice,
unless you are having problems with these components. Sometimes it
is necessary to repair the problem on-site
(such as in networking issues) so please contact us
ahead of time and ask us what the best course of action is in
your particular case. Whenever possible, we will ask you to bring
the computer into us because it offers numerous advantages to
on-site repair. By bringing the computer to us you eliminate pickup,
delivery or travel charges, and it allows you to take advantage of
the lower in-shop rate.
Just as importantly, we have many more resources at the shop (things
that we do not normally carry with us for on-site visits). There is
no need to schedule in-shop repairs, which means your computer gets
looked at shortly after is is dropped off. We are able diagnose and
repair your problems very quickly. Remember, when you drop off a
computer, to include all problematic parts, as well as all
of your disks and documentation.

» On-Site Repairs
|
|
Although we
encourage our customers to use our in-shop
repair services, sometimes that may not be possible or convenient.
Please contact us ahead of time, so that we
can advise you on whether to bring the problem into the shop
or if we need to come on-site for repair. Some problems, such as
networking, can only be fixed in the environment where the problem
is occurring. It is for this reason we have technicians available for on-site service. We do charge for
travel time to the site, as well as charge a higher rate.
On-site repairs do require scheduling, which means that, unless it
is an emergency, we will try to come to your location within 1-3
days. On-site service is not a guarantee for immediate repair of the
problem. It may be necessary to bring the computer back into the
shop for advanced troubleshooting techniques. Please have all
problematic parts, all disks and documentation, and a good
description of the environment and problem ready for our technician
we he comes on-site.

» Networking
|
|
When we hear
about networks, we all immediately think of the internet, and
how much it has effected our lives at home. But networks are
becoming an even more crucial aspect in the office. Networks
allow all of the computers in the office to be connected
together. They eliminate the need for each station to have its
own printer, backup,
and internet connection. Now multiple stations can all share the
same resources simultaneously. In the past, if you wanted to
give a file to a co-worker you needed to store it on a floppy
then walk the floppy over to the recipient. With networks, just
share your hard drive, and in a couple of seconds the file can
be transferred from your computer to your co-worker's. Networks
also allow a client-server relationship. This means that an
office can have one central, powerful server, and multiple,
lower cost client machines. All of this may sound complicated,
but to the experienced its extremely simple; and is comparable
to how your home phone system works. All that is needed is a
hardware network card installed in the computer, Ethernet cable,
and possibly jacks and a hub. If you are interested in
networking and resource sharing in your office, simply contact
us and we will help you find the best solution for your
situation. Networking is rapidly becoming a crucial part of the
business world. Make sure you business is not left behind in the
new millennium.

» Refurbished Systems
|
|
Getting
sticker shock when cruising the web or the retail stores
looking at new computers? Afraid to buy that cheap computer
out of the newspaper or out of the back of that guy's van? The
cliché, "if it's too good to be true, then it probably
is" holds true in the computer industry too. We have the
best alternative to getting sucked into a cheap deal -- our
refurbished systems. Retail stores often get returned
computers that users have messed up. The stores don't want to
spend the time fixing the problems so they sell them to us at
a reduced price. Often the problems can be fixed by an easy
hardware replacement or Windows reload. We fix the problems
and sell the computer to you at a reduced price. Now I know
you have concerns about buying used, broken computers, but we
are so confident that the machines are of the highest quality
that we back them with a one year parts and labor warranty.
Don't let sticker shock keep you from your dream machine. Contact
us and we will have the perfect machine for you at the
right price.

» Backup
|
|
By far
the most important concept when it comes to computing is the
backup. "Plan for the worse and hope for the best"
is the old Boy Scout saying. Hind sight 20-20 is most often
the case when a total system crash occurs. We see people all
the time kicking themselves, wishing they would have spent
that little bit of time and money to backup their data,
because now they have lost everything and must start from
scratch. We can assist in developing the perfect backup
solution for your situation. Whether you need a large capacity
tape backup, or a simple Zip drive we can help you. The first
step in developing a backup solution if identifying what and
where your data is. We can help you find where all of your
email, documents, and data files are stored. It is then
important to get all of your data into a centralized place;
that may mean putting your data into a simple data folder or
possibly storing it onto a server.
We would then backup that one centralized location. In case of
fire or theft it is crucial for your backup media to be
removed from your office site. You can store it at home, carry
it in your purse or briefcase, put it in your safe deposit
box, etc. No matter how little data you think you have, you'll
realize how important that little bit of data is when you lose
it all. Contact
us and we can give you the perfect backup solution. The
piece of mind of knowing your data is safe is worth every bit
of time and money that you give to protecting your
information.
